CRAZY! THAT'S US.
We're Nancy McCabe & Richard Curzi - currently living in Watertown, Massachusetts,
Back in 2017 - after one too many episodes of House Hunters International - we hatched an idea to live "home-free" in Europe for a year. We sold our 3-bedroom home in Belmont MA, unloaded practically all of our belongings in a 2-day "Estate Sale", and made our travel plans. We originally timed our departure to immediately to follow our daughter Bridget's wedding on June 29th 2019, in Cambridge MA, just minutes from our then-home in Belmont MA, but plans quickly shifted when our other daughter Laura and her fiancé Mark decided to marry on October 5th in Richmond VA. Timing for us could not be more perfect to make a get-away. Both couples were enjoying their honeymoon year, and grand-babies were nowhere in sight.
We departed from Richmond VA on October 16, 2019 with no return tickets, one suitcase and one backpack each - destination: Camogli, Italy. We reluctantly returned to the US on March 22 in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, but vowed to get back to Europe as soon as travel becomes allowed and - more importantly - is fun again. In the meantime we were lucky enough to find a spacious condominium available in a building we've been tracking for years - on the banks of the Charles River with a breathtaking view of the Boston cityscape. When the time is right, we can farm out our houseplants to some friends, lock the apartment door, and set off without a worry.
Every time we talked to people about our plans we encouraged them to join us. Luckily, MeetUsAnywhere.com was available so we chose it as our blog site and the theme for our trip. So if you plan to visit Europe in the next year or so, send us an email and let us know where and when and we will try to meet you there!
